We are often asked what types of games we play at our club. They are many and varied, from light and fun to deep strategy. Take a look at some examples below and see if you'd like to try them.

In addition to these we play classics like Puerto Rico, Power Grid, San Juan and dozens of others. Our members own 1,000's of games and are willing to bring some each week for us to experience and enjoy.

A Game of Thrones (and expansions)

A beautiful rendition of George R. R. Martin's fantasy world. A game of strategy and warfare with alliances and back stabbing aplenty. Not too heavy but deep enough to furrow the brow.

Cold War: CIA vs. KGB

Fun little 2 player card game that uses simple mechanics and plenty of decision making. Light fare but a an enjoyable experience.

1960: The Making of the President

Who knew an American history lesson could actually be so much fun? Another 2 player game that some people call "Twilight Struggle Lite". This games goes right to the wire to see if Kennedy or Nixon will win the keys to the most powerful job on the planet.

Race for the Galaxy
The players compete to explore the galaxy by settling new worlds and developing new technologies. Each turn each player chooses one action, but the others will share in the actions chosen. In the end, the player with the most points is the winner! (Rio Grande Games)
Tichu

A card game that started off as a filler and quickly became popular among many of our members. Four player action providing some agonising decision making.

Dust

Up to 6 players battle it out for planetary supremacy. A build units and attack, dice fest, guaranteed to cause some angst among players. Very nice board and retro lookng pieces.

Napoleon's Triumph

It's Bonaparte battling on a grand scale. A massive double board, fog of war pieces and leaders abounding. Amazing to look at and novel board markings that drive the strategy. A lot of depth for 2 players but still accessible for novice wargamers.

Combat Commander: Europe (and expansions)

A little bit heavier than other games we generally play but it is so well designed that there is always a few willing to give it a go. Two player war action requiring well-timed card play and a few rules to remember but once you've played once it's fairly straight-forward. Very satisfying.

Mr Jack

Very clever 2 player deduction game. One player is Jcak the Ripper and the other is the Inspector. Can Jack escape before he is found out? Quick, easy to understand and a lot of fun.

Thebes

Up to 4 players gain knowledge and dig for artifacts. Very clever mechanic makes it hard to find artifacts if you don't study hard enough or if you leave your run too late. Fun and quick.
